First day
At Zoe Epstein Ballet School we want every child's first day to be enjoyable and memorable. Every child is offered a free trial class where they can experience dancing at the School.
Your child can wear anything comfortable for the first day; for example leggings, shorts, a skirt and top or dress and either grippy socks or bare feet.
Classes are held on Mondays & Thursdays, after school in the Dance Studio at Alec Reed Academy for students age 3+.
Once you arrive, your child will be welcomed into the class and assigned a buddy to help them settle into the group. Parents can wait outside (and have a peak through the window to see your child enjoying their first class!)

Our school
At ZEBS we pride ourselves on providing the very best training for all children, whether your aims are to dance professionally or to build confidence dancing with friends.
All classes are taught by ex-professional ballerina and current Royal Ballet School Associate Teacher Zoe Epstein. Classes are structured to challenge and inspire students whilst nurturing their love of dance.
Classes are based on the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and now incorporating The Royal Ballet School's Affiliate Training Programme, a brand new programme including repertoire and creative choreography.
All students from age 7 who demonstrate potential for vocational training are eligible to be part of the Pre vocational programme.

Our classes

The School's ballet classes enable students to develop creativity, musicality and discipline, alongside physical strength and flexibility in a friendly and safe environment.
The School follows the RAD system of training which offers assessment and examination opportunities at every level. Classes include classical technique and character dance (from Grade 1 upwards) which promote natural co-ordination, balance, agility and artistic appreciation.
The discipline of ballet trains correct posture and strength, whilst focusing and stimulating the mind. Regular classes help develop a child’s musicality and imagination, increase confidence in their movement abilities and enhance their social skills through dancing with new friends.
Parents are invited to a demonstration class to observe their child’s progress at the end of each term.
Regular performance experiences and workshops are available to all students allowing children to develop creativity, social skills and self-expression.
New programme!

Launched in 2022, our School is thrilled to be able to offer The Royal Ballet School Affiliate Training & Assessment Programme (ATAP), as one of the first 50 schools worldwide!
Your child will benefit from the programmes student-centred approach, rooted in The Royal Ballet School’s ethos and expertise. Classes will include; classical ballet vocabulary, body conditioning, creative practice and repertoire. ATAP has a direct link to The Royal Ballet companies so students have access to exclusive resources and opportunities.
From 2023, a new style of dance has arrived at ZEBS! Modern dance is a rhythmic dance style rooted in musical theatre, which originated in America. It is often seen in musical productions and uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. Classes will incorporates jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance styles with a range of popular music.
Modern compliments ballet training with a creative approach to movement and strong focus on strength and flexibility work – perfect for challenging all aspiring dancers!
